About Me

My Story:

Simply put, I love to design and make jewelry. I can't possibly wear all I make or give as gifts, therefore I have expanded my hobby into a business.

I have learned most of my jewelry making skills as a member of the Medicine Hat Rock and Lapidary Club. I have learned how to shape and polish rocks, wire wrap, and silver smith. I especially enjoy field trips and hunting for interesting rocks. I also like to incorporate the sapphires and garnets my husband and I have found searching through bags of gravel from sapphire and garnet mines. We send them away to be faceted so I can create some dazzle!

Here I am searching for rocks and picking out sapphires from bags of gravel.

For over 13 years, I have been utilizing my artistic, creative and lapidary skills to design jewelry and have been participating in markets for five years. As COVID-19 made it difficult for me to participate in markets, I have turned my focus more to on-line sales and the development of my own website. Although I miss the customer contact, I look forward to learning new skills and expanding my customer base. I am also enjoying improving my photography skills to capture the beauty in my creations.

In addition to my own creations, some of the pieces I am selling were made by Reg Merkley. He taught me how to work with ammonite, Alberta's gemstone. We both purchased most of the raw ammonite for our pieces from Blackfoot Rocks & Gems, owned and operated by members of the Piikani Nation. I also bought a number of jewelry making supplies from Reg that he purchased when a jewelry store went out of business.

I am a bit of a perfectionist and value quality over quantity. My goal is to create quality designs for children, women and men of all ages, at a reasonable price.
